What we collect, and why
The access form collects your first and last name, your nationality, your country of residence, your industry, your position, your investor profile, your email address and the login you choose.
We collect it for two reasons, and only two: to know who we are opening a confidential document to, and to be able to contact you about this investment. Nothing asked is incidental — an investment memorandum is not addressed to an anonymous visitor.
Your password
It is never stored in readable form. Only an irreversible hash is kept: we cannot read it, and we will never be able to remind you of it — only issue you a new one.
Where the data goes
It is stored on our hosting, in a file outside the public part of the server, and passed to Smartacus CRM, which is our own contact-management tool. It is not sold, rented or passed to any commercial third party. No advertising tracker is set on this site. The only strictly necessary cookie is the one that keeps your session open; the audience measurement described below happens only with your consent.
Audience measurement
We count visits and the pages that are read, using Google Analytics. That tool sets cookies, so it loads only after you agree, asked by a banner on your first visit. Declining takes one click, exactly like accepting, and your choice is kept in your browser — not in a cookie, which would be absurd for remembering a refusal.
If you accept, your IP address is truncated before anything is recorded and Google's advertising signals are switched off: we measure an audience, we do not build a profile. If you decline, no measurement script is loaded and the site works exactly the same.
The investor dossier is not measured at all. Measurement covers the public pages only: what you read once logged in is your business alone.
For how long
Three years from our last exchange, then deletion. Your session expires after thirty days.
Your rights
You may at any time ask to see, correct or delete your data, and to withdraw your access. One address is enough: eric@smartacus.co. We answer within thirty days.
Confidentiality, the other way round
The undertaking given at registration binds us too: the material behind this page is shared with you for the sole purpose of assessing an investment. We ask you not to circulate it; we will not use your details for anything other than that purpose either.
